Reproduction Antique Door 2'9" - (838mm) - Solid Oak
These antique doors are produced to be perfect in a contemporary or a traditional home or barn conversion. A reproduction cottage door is suitable in period and listed buildings.
The doors are manufactured and supplied aged but unfinished:
- Using solid European oak pine and are of tongue and groove assembled with v-groove profile to avoid warping in the future
- Leaving knots and shakes purposely open so that may be filled in when you are completing the door in wax in order to give an authentic oak finish
- Using large random width vertical planks and three big horizontal ledges
- Allowing a 5 mm (approx) gap between the edge of the ledge and the edge of the door
And to allow you to:
- Use T – hinges or another style
- Cut down up to 3 inches width on each door
- Choose whatever oil or wax treatment you wish, or darken with a stain
We are proud to supply doors that are included in the international Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification has is given to the oak that proves the source of the material.
These doors look best (as photographed) with one or two coats of hard wax oil rather than a natural finish.
